Drug Design Technology
SK Biopharmaceuticals collects, integrates, searches for, and utilizes the information
necessary for new drug development through the "SKBP Discovery Portal," an integrated research
and development system containing new drug research data accumulated over the past 20 years. Furthermore, based on the vast research data and actual research experiences of researchers,
SK Biopharmaceuticals developed its own "big data and artificial intelligence-based drug design platform" and "genomic analysis platform" to find optimal drug candidates more quickly and efficiently through AI-based digital transformation throughout the research process, such as designing new compounds;, predicting physical properties, efficacy, and toxicity; and making genome-based drug target discoveries and indication predictions. -
Phenotypic Screening Platform
Phenotypic screening is a strategy used in drug discovery to identify molecules with the ability to alter a cell’s phenotype. Animal models and cell-based assays are both strategies used to identify these molecules. SK Biopharmaceuticals has been focused on research and development (R&D) of new drugs that apply a phenotype screening platform as well as researching target-centered R&D of new drugs. Use of this platform to perform analysis of various disease models enables us to assess and more readily identify candidate drug efficacy and safety profiles. In addition, we are proceeding with research that selects the cause of the disease, the mechanism of action of the drug and the major biomarkers. This is done by analyzing the data of multiple “omics” (Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabalomics, Epigenomics, etc.).
